I’m Sammie, a money expert and business owner passionate about helping you take control of your wallet. My mission with Up the Gains is to create a safe space to help improve your finances, cut your costs and make you feel good while doing it.

One my favourite ways of learning about money is watching videos of creators on YouTube.

In fact, when I was first getting myself financially educated in my mid twenties, most of what I picked up initially was from YouTube.

I then moved onto personal finance books and courses but YouTube is a fantastic place to learn.

Below I’ve compiled a list of our top 10 best personal finance YouTubers in the UK that I actively watch.

YouTube is on the up and with over 44 million users in the UK it vastly outweighs any other form of media.

It is a fantastic way to consume information; many people find it easier to watch than to reach

Let’s unpack our top 10 personal finance YouTubers so we can get you watching and financially educated in no time.

Table of Contents

Our Top 10 UK Based Personal Finance YouTubers

There are honestly so many good channels right now and it was really hard to pick my favourite 10.

I could have easily picked 10 more but I wanted to handpick the best personal finance YouTubers so you don’t need to go anywhere else.

First up – Pick Mine 😅

I mean I had to start with my own channel Upthegainsmoney because you got to back yourself right.

I’ve just kicked off my YouTube journey with about 30 videos on the channel so far.

The plan is to release at least one video every week from here on out covering everything you’d expect from personal finance YouTubers.

Check out my Up The Gains Money channel here or check out my current most popular video just below.

1. Damien Talks Money

Damien’s channel for me is the number one personal finance YouTube channel right now.

He combines fantastic delivery with comedy, engaging edits and most importantly breaks down complex financial topics so the everyday person can understand them.

Starting the channel in Covid it’s since grown to well over 150k subscribers and trust me you’ll learn a lot from Damien!

He’s one of those YouTubers where you want to binge it all.

Check out Damien’s channel HERE.

2. Mark Tilbury

Weirdly enough Mark lived opposite me for a few years when I was growing up. I never knew he had a personal finance YouTube channel until I’d moved out and when I saw him pop up I was like I know that guy! Small world!

Mark though has over 2 million subscribers and is for me probably the most well known worldwide as well as the UK.

His content is not just excellent it’s truly first class and his cheesy delivery, snappy editing make the content approachable and super easy to consume.

Check out Mark’s channel here.

3. Martin Lewis

The UK personal finance god Martin Lewis also has a YouTube channel alongside his personal finance podcast, incredible website and ITV show.

The man is everywhere and rightly so, the amount of money he’s made back for the everyday consumer must be in the 100s of millions by now, it not more.

The YouTube channel doesn’t let you down either and it’s here Martin will usually go into more detail surrounding a certain current topic or financial issue.

It’s also just usually him and his camera, no flashy edit and just Martin delivering financial gold dust.

Check out The Money Saving Expert full channel HERE.

4. Sasha Yanshin

He swears and he really tears into certain topics. What isn’t there to like?

If you’re after a no BS, straight talking approach to the economy, the state of the stock market or indeed the housing market then Sasha Yanshin is your guy.

I find myself getting drawn into a video and then 30 minutes later I’ve watched 3 or 4 of his rants.

Really enjoy Sasha’s content and I know you will too!

Check out his full channel HERE.

5. Peter Komolafe

I personally think Peter one of the most underrated personal finance influencers out there.

His calm, cool, collected approach to topics where he speaks candidly and effortlessly about complex financial topics.

Don’t let that put you off though he breaks everything down so its super easy to understand.

As a regular feature on Channel 4’s Steph’s Pack Lunch and author of the book ‘The Money Basics’, Peter is one of my favourites.

He’s even petitioning the government to get financial literacy into schools and we had the pleasure of him coming onto the podcast too!

Check out his channel HERE.

6. Toby Newbatt

I came across Toby’s channel in 2023 when doing some research for topics on my own channel and fell in love with his content.

Toby covers a wide range of personal finance topics from investing, saving, making money and more economic based topics too.

I’d say his channel is more catered to the beginner and I always tune into his videos when they come up on my feed.

7. Nischa

Wow, Nischa.

As a Chartered Accountant and former Investment Banker Nischa is absolutely one of THE most knowledable personal finance YouTubers out there.

Her content is however, very beginner friendly and she explains complex topics very easily.

With just under 1 million followers she has an army of loyal supporters and I’ve yet to see a video of hers underperform.

Hugely enjoy watching her simple, easy and effective videos and I know you guys will too!

8. James Shack

I got into James’s channel about 2 years ago and I love his style of content.

As a financial planner he of course makes content around money but he also focuses a lot on money health which I really like!

I also really love his kitchen which he often has in the background of the video. Literally house goals!

James puts out a new video every 2 weeks and you just know it’s going to be super high quality. His channel has over 150k subscribers and I’m not surprised!

His content also focuses a lot around money management, retirement goals and making the most of your money.

Definitely one for your list. Check out his full channel HERE.

9. Andy Webb

Andy’s channel Be Clever With Your Cash is one of the best channels for getting the low down on brands in the industry.

His candid reviews of investing apps, banking products and accounts are first class and I always go to his channel first to see if he’s reviewed something.

He even interviewed Rishi Sunak back when he was channcellor on his podcast too! Not bad!

Andy is also a big part of the personal finance community hosting awards in the space as well as helping others like me come through.

Highly recommend you checking out his content HERE.

10. Mitch Investing

One that might not be on everyone’s best personal finance Youtubers list but is on mine is Mitch Investing.

The reason being I really enjoy his breakdowns of how his investment portfolio is progressing.

He’s open and honest with the audience and I think it’s a really great example for beginners to look at.

The channel is more focused on investing than personal finance but is one to consider for sure!

Check out his channel HERE.
