Paid Surveys

Lots of companies will pay you to do their market research by answering simple surveys. Give your opinions and earn some cash on the side.

This is a perfect way to get started earning money right away and if you pursue it enough you can earn a decent amount.

Sites like SwagBucks and Branded Surveys are a great place to start.

Check out the best paid surveys here.

Blogging

Start your own blog on a topic that you love. Consistently posting high quality content and creating an audience will help you make £1000 in a week, but it won’t happen instantly.

It’s important to note that you’ll need to put in at least a few months of hardwork to get to that £1000 a week. A recent survey ran by Income School showed you need around 100 blog posts to reach that amount.

That being said blogging is awesome and in some cases some people are making six figures a month. Check out our post about making money from a blog here.

Tutoring

If you are knowledgeable about a particular topic, then why not teach others.

You can do this either in person or online and depending on your knowledge and skillset you’ll be free to charge whatever you deem fit.

There is such high demand for tutors to help on a diverse range of subjects and you’d be surprised what people are willing to pay. Maybe that degree might come in handy after all!

When we looked further into this the average wage for an online tutor is £20 an hour but some more experienced tutors are charging up to £100 an hour.

One way is working directly with a company that can bring you leads in like Tutor Hunt or UK Tutors.

Or if you prefer you can build up your own client base promoting yourself on social media.

Sign-Up Bonuses

A lot of apps and sites will pay you a small amount by signing up to them. These small amounts soon start to add up.

There is also sites like Oh My Dosh that allow you to make money from surveys and other deals. Be careful though as you will need to cancel the deals you sign up for so you don’t start paying them off.

Referral Bonuses

Refer websites or brands using a unique link to friends and family. Then get paid for every successful referral.

This can be done in so many different ways but if the links are worth it for your friends then that could be a great place to start.

Earn Money While Shopping

Cashback apps will give you money back after every purchase you make, including groceries, medicine, clothes and gadgets.

If you look into Topcashback and QuidCo you’ll see most major retailers are listed on there which means you can save money on almost every shop you make. Over time that balance builds up!

Investing

Investing is one of the best forms of wealth generation. It should also be part of everyone’s financial plan.

Overtime as you build up your investment pot you may start to receive dividend payments which land in your bank account.

For example if a company pays a 5% dividend and you have £1000 invested with them you receive £50 a year just for owning that stock.

Investing isn’t without risk however so it’s important to do your research or consult a financial advisor

Write Content For Websites

Most websites don’t write all of their own content, they instead outsource the work to writers.

You don’t have to be an expert, but you can write about anything and there will be gigs out there to suit your skill set.

Sites like Fiverr and Upwork can allow you to have somewhere to advertise your skillset and bring in jobs. Copywriting is also another great side hustle that you can do in your own time.

For example, a friend of mine recently picked up a 2 month job for £10,000 that she has taken on in her spare time. She needs to complete 30,000 words for this travel website in this time and when you break it down it’s more than doable!

Freelancer

The key is the first part of the word free. You can literally pick any skill you excel at and turn it into a cash generating machine.

If you have a look on website like Fiverr and Upwork you’ll see there are 1000s of skills that people are successfully selling to small business owners.

Set yourself up a profile and start networking with small businesses. You can use websites like LinkedIn and Facebook groups to pick up work.

Initially start charging at the lower end of the spectrum but as you build up positive reviews start to look at increasing your prices.

Fiverr - Freelancer Marketplace

Hire a freelancer on Fiverr to help you build the brand of your dreams. Whatever it is you need help with there's a freelancer waiting for you to reach out.

We earn a commission if you make a purchase, at no additional cost to you.

Budget

Budgeting is really important, and it will help see how much money you are spending and on what. Then you can try to keep spending to a minimum.

Without a budget you’re essentially in the dark and so this is the first place we suggest you begin before trying to make more money.

For those who are interested we have an article about how to create the perfect household budget right here.

Pay Rise

Depending on your performance, you could always ask your boss for a pay rise. If you don’t ask, you won’t get it.

You can always test the water if you’re not sure by calling a meeting and ask probing questions like where do you see my future? Where do you feel the company is going?

Or you could wait for your annual review and push for a pay rise then. Remember you should always be looking to increase just slightly above the average inflation rate or you’re essentially losing money each year.

making more money

New Job

If that meeting for a pay rise doesn’t go as planned or you just feel like a change will do you good then start taking a look online to see what’s out there. Looking won’t hurt.

You may even find that you’re underpaid for the work you’re doing and find some super cool companies that you dreamed of working for one day!

Refinance Your Debt

By refinancing your debt, you lower your interest rates. This way you can save more money while you are paying back every month.

Start with the highest interest first and work your way down the list. Targeting debt can also help you to pay it off and leave more money for business ventures or investing.

Test Websites

Get paid to test websites to make sure that they work. Similar to paid surveys, you can earn little amounts of money, which eventually mounts up.

Sell Crafts

Anyone that is creative, could sell something that they have made. Handcrafted items have a lot of appeal on sites like Etsy and Ebay.

People love something unique and your creation could just be the perfect thing for them.

Loan others money

Peer-to-Peer lending or P2P loans is a great way to put some of your spare cash to work and make interest from loaning others money.

How it works is essentially you are the loanee to another individual or business. You charge interest on that loan but are responsible if the loan defaults.

It’s important to assess the risks and use trusted websites to help broker a good deal.

Mindful Spending

Similar to budgeting, except you think about what you are spending.

For example, don’t get a Starbucks coffee each morning, brew your own to take into work. Actively trying to spend less will help you in the long run.

Write An Ebook

writing an ebook

Publishing your own book through Amazon Kindle or via your own website is a great way to make some extra money.

You own the rights to the book and can set your own prices. Equally a digital book is just a file, there’s no physical copies to worry about and you can sell it over and over again.

Move House

Accommodation costs are usually what we spend the majority of our money on.

If you don’t need the £1000 immediately, then why not move and live somewhere that is much cheaper.

For example, we recently moved from London to Hampshire. The commute is almost the same length as we lived on the outskirts and we saved a lot of money on our mortgage but it would be the same with rent too. We even got a bigger place!

Create An Online Course

Create your own online course, and set your own price. Once you have created the course, all you need to worry about is promoting it.

You can do this via a blog, website and/or social media channels.

You need to be an expert in the field you are teaching, otherwise you leave yourself open for bad reviews and potential refunds.

Check out sites like Teachable that allow you to create, sell and manage your online courses all through their platform.

Sell Unwanted Items

If you have lots of things you don’t want, then why not sell them. Some things may be worth more than you realise.

Rent Out Your Space

If you have a spare room or space in your home, why not make money from it. Rent it out to other people on Airbnb.

Freelance Driver

Becoming a freelance driver is great if you want to fit it around your busy schedule. Although, be aware of the extra wear on your car from more driving.

Busking

As long, you are in the right place and time you can easily make £1000 a week from busking.

Busy areas and periods in your local town are the places you want to busk in. The one thing here is you need to be pretty decent otherwise you might make nothing at all!

Pet Sitting

For animal lovers out, you can look after other people’s animals while they are away.

Pet owners will pay plenty of money to ensure their pets are properly taken care of. You could pop in while they are at work or on holiday.

Rent Your Stuff

Not everything needs to be sold, instead rent items such as photography equipment, a car or guitar.

There’s plenty of things that people want to use but don’t have the money to fork out.

For example, a friend of mine has two bouncy castles that he rents out for decent money most weekends. The initial investment might have been quite high but once it’s paid off he’s raking in pure profit.

Sell Plasma

Selling plasma helps you earn money and save lives, although you can’t do it everyday. You can earn around £400 for one plasma donating session.

Use Your Car To Advertise

Add removable stickers to your car and advertise brands and companies as you drive around town. Businesses will pay you to advertise them.

Part-Time Job

If your full time job isn’t bringing in enough money, then maybe it’s time to get a part-time job alongside it.

Spare time, such as weekends, can go towards your side hustle or part-time job. If you pick up one that pays well you can easily earn up to £1000 a week but you will need to put the time in.

This could also be a great side hustle for mums who only have a few hours spare each week.

Sell Your Old Clothes

Selling clothes, especially designer clothes, can help you make £1000 in a week. Go to vintage shops and then sell your haul online for a profit.

You can also set up your own store on apps like Depop and Ebay. That way you deal directly with the customers and set your own prices for your own goods.

There is also sites to re-sell old baby clothes so if you’ve got bags of used baby clothes lying about bundle them up and sell them online.

Buy Premium Bonds

Did you know that premium bonds are one of the biggest savings account products in the UK.

The difference being you can win up to £1 million everytime they draw which is once a month.

It’s essentially a lottery but you can start from as little as £25 per bond and go all the way up to £50,000 to increase your chances of winning!

Deliver Food

Deliver food to people’s homes. Restaurants are always asking for more drivers, this can be part-time or full time hours.

These days with apps like Deliveroo and UberEats you can pick up work that fits into your schedule. If you’re serious about making a £1000 a week you’ll need to put in a good amount of hours but that money is yours if you do so!

Buy And Sell Domain Names

Do your research and purchase some domain names, then sell them to other sites for a huge profit. If you’re quick and smart you can pick up domains for just a few pounds.

It’s important to pick domains you think people will eventually want. Try to get ahead of the curve and then put them back on sale for lots more. In some cases popular domains can go for £1000s.

Stock Photography

If you like to take pictures, then make money from them. Sell your images to stock photography sites and earn royalties on your images.

These days you can take high quality photos with a phone and often these are just as good quality than those with a high powered camera.

Before investing in lots of expensive equipment hone your skills with free YouTube videos online and take a bunch of photos on your phone. Show them to friends and family to get some feedback and once you’re ready get them uploaded online!

  5. Participate in Market Research: Companies will pay for your opinion. Sites like Prolific, YouGov, or Swagbucks offer payment for completing surveys or participating in market research studies.

  6. Matched Betting: This is a risk-free betting strategy that takes advantage of free bet offers from bookmakers. It’s legal and tax-free in the UK, but you need to understand the process well to avoid mistakes.

1000 per day jobs?

Earning £1000 per day in the UK is achievable, but it typically requires a high level of expertise, experience, or entrepreneurial success. Here are a few examples:

  1. High-level Consultancy: Professionals with expertise in high-demand fields like law, management, finance, or technology can command high consultancy rates.

  2. Medical Specialists: Surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical specialists often have high salaries due to their extensive education and the critical nature of their work.

  3. High-End Freelancing: Specialised freelancers such as blockchain developers, AI specialists, or financial advisors can charge high fees for their services.

  4. Property Investment: Successful property investors can make substantial earnings from their properties, though it requires significant capital and understanding of the property market.

  5. Business Owner/Entrepreneur: Owners of successful businesses or startups can earn substantial incomes, although this often comes after years of hard work and investment.

  6. Public Speaking/Corporate Training: If you have expertise in a highly sought-after area and are comfortable speaking in public, you might earn high fees for speaking or training engagements.

It’s important to remember that these are not jobs you can simply walk into – they require significant experience, skills, education, or capital. Also, they usually involve a certain level of risk or instability compared to more traditional roles.

1000 per week jobs?

Earning £1000 per week in the UK equates to an annual salary of approximately £52,000, which is achievable in several career paths with the right qualifications, skills, and experience. Here are some professions that might offer this income level:

  1. IT Professionals: Jobs in information technology, particularly roles like software development, cybersecurity, and data analysis, often come with high salaries due to the high demand for these skills.

  2. Medical Professionals: While not all roles in healthcare will earn this much, certain positions such as pharmacists, experienced nurses, or specialized therapists could potentially reach this income level.

  3. Engineering Professionals: Senior engineers, particularly in fields like petroleum, chemical, or electrical engineering, often command high salaries.

  4. Finance Professionals: Positions like financial advisors, investment analysts, and senior accountants can reach and exceed this weekly income with enough experience and the right qualifications.

  5. Management Roles: Managers, especially in larger companies or specific industries like tech or finance, often earn high salaries.

  6. Self-Employed Professionals: Skilled freelancers, consultants, or small business owners in high-demand fields can potentially earn this amount, but income can vary widely.

Remember, these are just examples and actual salaries can vary depending on the specific job, your qualifications, the size and type of the company, and the region of the UK in which you work.

It’s also important to consider job satisfaction, work-life balance, and career progression when choosing a profession, not just salary.

Is £1000 a lot of money?

Whether £1000 is considered a lot of money depends on several factors, including your income level, financial obligations, geographical location, and personal perspective on money.

For someone earning a minimum wage, £1000 can represent a significant portion of their income. It could cover rent, groceries, or other important bills for a period of time, or be a substantial savings contribution.

For high earners or people with large financial obligations, £1000 might not go as far, and it may be seen as a smaller sum of money. The cost of living varies greatly across different regions, so £1000 will stretch further in areas with a lower cost of living.

On a broader level, if we think about saving and investing, £1000 can be a solid starting point for an emergency fund, a contribution to a retirement account, or an initial investment in stocks or other assets.

So, while £1000 may not make you rich, it’s a significant amount that can contribute to financial stability or growth if managed wisely.

Conclusion

There you have 35 ways that can help you make £1000 in just a week! Try a couple out for yourself and see how much you can make.

It’s important to note that there is no quick way to make £1000 unless you have the capital to invest quickly.

Most of the time you’ll need to put in a good bit of effort but if you stick at it then it can definitely pay off for you!

We hope you’ve picked up how to make £1000 in a week now! We’ve also got another post on how to make £1000 a month if this is too much for you and you prefer working fewer hours.
